When life becomes a roller coaster with unpredictable ups and downs, there’s a lot to be stressed about. There are often times when we feel stressed, unfocused, and uninspired. It becomes harder to cope when we are caged and enforced to maintain distance from others, as we all humans are intensely social creatures and need contact and social support. Reduced activities, deviation from usual routines, and unstructured pattern of life can create boredom, gloominess, etc. When we try to bottle up our emotions without sharing, it further leads to mental disturbances like anxiety, clinical depressions, very often. When you feel your motivation is at an all-time low mode, there are things you can do to transform your inertia into energy.
How to live every day with a clear intention to get closer to achieving our goals and living a happy and motivated life? Here I am introducing an FCL Formula to make you more charged, focussed, successful, and content all the time.
Always remember to focus on what you want, even if that seems a million miles away right now. When you focus on what you want, the part of the brain called the reticular activating system comes into action; and it notices situations, events, and opportunities that could help bring that into your life.
Life is like a camera, focus on what’s important and you will be able to capture it perfectly.”
These are the 4 tips to turn off your distractions and improve your focusing skills.
Set your Goals
Visualization of your goals (DREAMS)
Self-designing of Life
Avoid negativity and bad regimes forcefully
“ The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short, but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.” This is the famous quote of Michelangelo, about the importance of setting goals, all through your life. The process of setting goals helps to choose where you want to go in life. And where you have to concentrate your efforts to give a broad, balanced coverage of all important areas in life, like career, education, family, finance and all. These goals keep you motivated and help you to avoid unnecessary procrastination and distractions. But the truth is that meaningful goals usually require serious efforts. Once it is set, it needs to be accomplished. Efforts and resources need to be used. Monitoring them helps us to stay focused and on track.
Visualize your success and make it happen. Visualizing and believing in your ability to do something may be the only way to make it happen. So dream, dream, and dream until it makes sense to your efforts and actions. The simpler the scene, the better.
Losers visualize the penalties of failure, winners visualize the rewards of success.”
Sometimes we all feel that an area of our life or perhaps more than one has gone completely off track and feel like you can’t move forward. Then don’t worry to switch off the usual suspect and embrace a new challenge. It’s always necessary to reboot your life and get a fresh start. Hit reset, start over, start a new chapter. Always do some introspection about the most important things to you right now. And make sure that you are working towards that. When life is audited, performance improves.
You are the storyteller of your own life, and you can create your legend or not.”
Almost invariably you are going to encounter obstacles throughout the day, there is no such thing as a perfect day. The only thing we can do is to welcome each day with a smile and a positive attitude. Always try to keep turning your failures into some lessons and you could come up with them in the short ways to success. Be optimistic and focus on the present, not today, not this hour, only this exact moment. And try to keep your self-talks always in a positive way.
For Example: “ I’m so bad at this” can become, “ “Once I get more practice I will be way better at this.”
Like this the more often you practice it, the greater benefits you will realize.
Some tough times are inevitable in our life. Challenges come in all shapes and sizes; often test our patience, inner strength, and beliefs. When it comes to facing a struggle, remember it’s not the challenge itself, but your perception and interpretation of it that gives you negative thoughts and feelings. Always keep in mind that, you may not be responsible for the challenge that is happening in your life. It can be something that is completely out of your control. But now that you are in this situation, you are 100% responsible for the action you take. This is a good thing because it gives you choices and options, and you will feel more in control.
Remember, there is almost always an endpoint, there is almost always a solution. A time when things will get better, often there is something far better waiting for you on the other side of this challenge. So don’t worry about making some mistakes, let it happen. We are not all perfectionists. But make sure that you are correcting and pulling off your challenges, eventually. Be humble to see your mistakes, courageous to admit them, and wise enough to correct them.
You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.”
Acceptance is the first step toward peace. We all know the fact that acceptance of yourself is far more important than acceptance from others. The first step towards change is awareness. The second step is acceptance.
We all know that life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t ever try to resist them, that only creates unnecessary conflicts; within us. Let reality be reality. Let things flow in their way. Just stay calm and accept it.
Learn to control your emotions. The more emotional you are, the more you get hurt.”
We are driven by one emotion at least, every other day. Whether it is love, anxiety, sorrow, anger, rage, envy whatever it may be. When learning to exercise control over emotions, make sure you aren’t just sweeping them under the rug. Healthy emotional expression involves finding some balance between overwhelming emotions and no emotions at all. Neither overreact nor bottle them up. Always find a creative overflow of your thoughts and emotions.
Replace your thoughts, when it turns out as negativity. And still finding difficulty in managing it, go for a talk to someone about this or meditate. Breathe and allow things to pass.
I am and always will be enough.”
The best way to boost up your confidence is,
Do one small task that requires you to stretch beyond your comfort zone.
Achieve small and easy-to-attain goals to help you feel successful.
Don’t hesitate to practice a mirror technique every morning, which lets you use your subconscious mind to appear and feel more confident in a matter of minutes.
“Stay, look into your mirror, focus on your eyes, breathe deeply, and start repeating powerful affirmations out loudly.” Like “I am perfect the way I am”, I am Unique”, I’m kind and I respect myself”, ‘Am valuable and worthy likewise.”
Whatever you fight, you strengthen what you resist persists.”
Fear often causes inaction. We are afraid of what might happen, so we don’t take that step forward or take that shock. If we don’t trust ourselves to be able to learn and course-correct from our mistakes if we don’t hear a stirring feeling that “no matter what happens, I will make a good situation out of it.” And if we don’t hear an accurate appreciation of our values then we will continue to find out excuses and keep us in the same inactive state. To avoid the fear of failures, and always try something new. And don’t worry if it doesn’t work out, move to plan B; Of Course, there are choices. Don’t be judgemental, compare yourself with anybody. Instead of that, be excited and focus on the fact that you have an opportunity to change your life, to create the life you want. Use that excitement to push through the fear to take a step forward. Then keep taking steps forward until you get to where you want to be. So, folks, it’s time to stop waiting for things to happen and it’s the time to create it for yourself.
When the world says, ‘Give up’ Hope whispers, ‘Try it one more time.”
The most difficult thing to be achieved or developed, but an essential tool for success in life. We all have that ability to do something, to start something, to create some changes. But how many of us have that magic of “ Continuing to work & learn, keep moving confidently in the direction of one dream, no matter how hard it gets? Not many might have, I guess.
That is the importance of perseverance, i.e the persistence in sticking to a plan or regimes plays a vital role in all sorts of good results. We can lift our perseverance level by 1% improvement every day. Quit the fear of fall. “ It’s not the most talented people that make it, It’s the ones with the most endurance always.
Last is the love factor, the cure, the power, the magic of change. Love is nothing but fondness, tenderness, warmth, intimacy, devotion, adoration, worship passion, and whatnot. Love in essence does not hold limitations or boundaries. Imagine a world without Mother Teresa, Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela… Great individuals who risked their own lives to save humanity. Imagine a world without philanthropists, social workers, humanitarians, martyrs, who keeps this world alive and beautiful be their own selfless and heroic deeds
We know that love and compassion are the prime elements, not the luxuries to survive humanity, because the world if we look from a human life perspective, is full of tragedies, ailments, pains, and sufferings. Somewhere we all suffer, though the seasons and magnitude may differ. But when we start worrying and caring, only about our problems and concerns, then humanity itself will be questioned. So we cannot forget this part of our life that the basic essence of being a human is to be empathetic, loving, and compassionate. So don’t hesitate to generate and impact your immense power of ‘Love Medicine’ to yourself as self-love and to others as your precious humanist way.
To fall in love with yourself is the first secret to happiness.”
The most important place for true love is to one’s self. The degree to which you can love yourself is the degree to which you can love one another. Self-love comes from you. It comes from being yourself and being proud of who you are. According to studies, self-love and compassion are key for mental health and well being, keeping depression and anxiety at bay.
The first step of self-love is to acknowledge yourself, your flaws, your imperfections, your weaknesses and start to appreciate who you are and how you are unique and priceless to yourself. It may reduce your anxiety and the behaviour of beating yourself up over every little error and obsessions towards imperfections. So be curiously kind towards yourself, it has been proven to lower the stress hormones, cortisol. cheer up, it’s a fact that when you start blooming with self-love, your fragrance will start to spread all over. So be your reason to smile.
By being kinder to others, we are more likely to be kinder to ourselves. It may sound a bit odd, but believe me, it works very often. It makes your little world a bit more beautiful and happier place to live in. To develop the ‘attitude of gratitude’ in your life. Don’t be so judgmental always, replace the unconstructive criticism with unconditional encouragement, which raises the self-esteem of others. Imagine the good times when you get enough kindness from other people and try to give back the same to the needy ones in your life. Express the kindness for something you may often take for granted. Either it’s from your parents or close relatives. Yes, It’s true, that minute of your life, will put a smile on others faces and joy in their heart is priceless and irreplaceable for a lifetime.
So be happy and optimistic always, you cannot wait for the perfect time to arrive. A journey through a smoothly paved, straight flat road to nowhere might be comfortable, at some point. But wouldn’t it be too dull to make a lifetime drive? So to become a skillful driver, still there is time to change the road you are on. Every unknown road will lead to some destinations, perhaps strange enough to turn your life around.
